Working with NSL: Louise’s Story

Louise started her career with NSL, the UK’s leading provider of civil parking enforcement services, through our support in 2014. In her own words, she tells her story with NSL.

“I started at NSL in June 2014 after hearing about the vacancy through the Growth Company following a referral by my Job Centre advisor when I was seeking employment. I feel that when I was seeking employment, the Growth Company matched me to positions that would suit me best. They were always on hand to support me, not just with applications, but with interview skills and CV writing techniques.

“When I started at NSL, I was a Customer Service Representative, answering calls and responding to customer challenges. I quickly learnt that this was a place I would fit in and where I would enjoy working. The management team was so welcoming and checked in with me a lot in my first few weeks.

“After just 6 months I was approached and asked if I would take on more responsibility. I was excited about the challenge and the training schedule that was put together for me was excellent.

“It wasn’t long after that when I was promoted to a supervisory role and I couldn’t wait. Part of my training meant that I was able to move around the call centre, looking at different areas including quality assurance, other local government contracts and admin duties such as dealing with the post. I feel like I have grown a lot as a person and learnt so much over my six years here.

“I feel supported in my role and enjoy coming to work every day, as no two days are the same. It definitely keeps you on your toes. What is also really encouraging and motivating is the recognition I receive which makes a difference. In 2018, I was promoted to a Team Leader and I am now managing a team of twelve.

“Looking forward, I see myself developing further within NSL as there is still so much to learn about the company. I am constantly looking to develop and improve myself and feel that this company will help me to do this.

“Also, I would recommend anyone to use the services of the Growth Company. If it wasn’t for them, I would not have found myself in a role that I love. I would say the same for NSL. They are an excellent company to work for. They provide employee benefits, flexible working and, most of all, I feel valued as an employee.
