Sarah’s Story: Support Through the Employment Tribunal Process
- Tuesday, April 23, 2024
Many people run into difficulties in their job, but do not know where to turn for guidance.
Whether you are worried about your rights, redundancy proceedings, pay issues, contractual terms, or ongoing disputes, Employment Legal Advice (ELAS) can set you on the right track.
The service is a joint venture by the Growth Company, Citizens Advice Manchester, Citizens Advice Bolton, Citizens Advice Salford, and a network of local legal partners. It aims to help people across Greater Manchester to access free and timely employment-related support provided by experts in the field.
Sarah is just one of the people who has benefitted from this support.
Sarah’s Story
Sarah worked as a Locum GP for a few years until she was dismissed after whistleblowing.
Wanting to take her case to an employer tribunal as a litigant in person, but with limited understanding of the process and legal test requirements, Sarah contacted the Employment Legal Advice and was connected with one of our legal partners.
Sarah spoke to two solicitors who advised her on the tribunal process and gave guidance on next steps, including making a claim through the ET1 form and completing the case management agenda form. Sarah was also offered a further appointment if required in the future.
Commenting on her experience, Sarah said: “This is an excellent service for litigants in person who need a legally qualified person to answer their queries and guide them on their employment tribunal journey.
“I felt more confident and am aware of my obligations in these areas, and would encourage anyone seeking employment legal advice to contact ELAS.”
