Empowering over 5,300 People in Greater Manchester to Achieve Positive Outcomes

• The Working Well: Support to Succeed programme, launched in January 2024, helps economically inactive individuals in Greater Manchester access support and overcome barriers.
• Over the past year, the programme has supported over 5,300 people, including more than 1,500 individuals aged 50 or older.
• The programme will continue to offer tailored support to Greater Manchester residents over the next 12 months to help them become employment ready.

A new programme delivered by The Growth Company is already making a big difference to the lives of Greater Manchester residents.

Working Well: Support to Succeed was launched in January 2024 to support economically inactive individuals and help them overcome barriers to achieving their goals. Tailored to meet individual needs, the programme delivers a range of support to help with employment, wellbeing, confidence-building, skills, training, and more.  

Over the past year or so, the programme has supported over 5,300 people across Greater Manchester. More than 1,500 of the people supported were aged 50 or older.

As economic inactivity rates have risen in recent years, the Support to Succeed programme has boosted people's confidence, provided access to skills courses, and encouraged the pursuit of new experiences. As a result, some participants have entered or re-entered the workforce, while others have acquired the knowledge, skills, and self-esteem needed to take their next steps towards employment. 

Support to Succeed will continue to support Greater Manchester residents over the next 12 months.

Working Well: Support to Succeed is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The city-region's allocation, managed by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and delivered by The Growth Company, will provide support for up to 8,872 residents between January 2024 and March 2026.
