Employment, Justice, and Health Support on the Agenda at Growth Company Managers’ Meeting
- Tuesday, July 22, 2025
Last week, managers from the Growth Company’s employment, justice, and health teams packed into Sheffield’s Grade II listed Victoria Hall to review another challenging-but-productive 12 months.
The annual event presents an opportunity for colleagues to discuss good practice, share ideas, and learn about the positive impact their work is having on people and communities in the North of England and beyond.
The first half of the day was taken up with group conversations about initiatives, both big and small, that have delivered success in different areas of the business.
Among the highlights were efforts to promote digital inclusion and the integration of partnership work into borough forums and Looked After Children services to improve coordination. Attendees also heard about collaborative work with NHS Manchester Foundation Trust and local NHS Trusts to enhance healthcare access for refugees, alongside the vital role played by the voluntary, community, and faith sector in supporting these communities.
In the afternoon, the hall played host to an awards ceremony to recognise the ingenuity and dedication of outstanding managers, with categories for each of GC’s core values:
The Growth Company’s Managing Director for Employment, Michelle Leeson, commented: “Sometimes when you're working on one programme or sector, it's easy to lose sight of the big picture.
“That's why events like the one we hosted in Sheffield are so important. They give us all the chance to reflect on our growing footprint in employment, justice, and health support across the UK.
“We also had the opportunity to celebrate the positive difference that our managers make to the lives of colleagues and service users every single day. I'd like to thank them for their hard work and commitment and extend my congratulations to those who won an award.”
