Trafford In Work is a personalised employment and wellbeing service for Trafford residents who are already in work and want to improve their career prospects, increase their earnings, and build longer-term job security.

The programme is delivered by the Growth Company alongside Trafford Council and forms part of a wider initiative to support economic inclusion and social mobility in Greater Manchester.

Support Tailored to You

Many people are working hard but still facing challenges such as low pay, insecure hours, or limited progression. Trafford In Work is designed to help people take positive next steps in work, while also helping employers create more confident, motivated, and productive teams. The programme supports people to build skills, strengthen confidence, access training, and improve wellbeing, with the wider aim of supporting economic inclusion and social mobility in Greater Manchester.

We provide advice and guidance to:

  • People in Trafford who are currently in work and want to improve their earnings, career prospects, or job security.
  • Residents on zero-hours contracts or in part-time or temporary work who want greater stability and progression.
  • Employers in Trafford who want to support staff development, wellbeing, retention, and progression in the workplace.

Who Can Get Support?

Trafford In Work is delivered locally, with teams based in communities across the borough so they can work closely with residents and employers and help them take practical next steps. The programme is available to Trafford residents who are in work and to employers who want to support staff progression and wellbeing.

You may be eligible for Trafford In Work if you are:

  • Aged 18 or over.
  • Living in Trafford.
  • Currently employed.
  • Working in part-time, temporary, or zero-hours contract roles, or another form of low-wage work.

Support for Individuals

If you live in Trafford and are already in work, Trafford In Work can help you take the next step in your career. The programme is open to people aged 18 or over who live in Trafford and are currently employed, including those working part-time, temporarily, or on zero-hours contracts.

Support available for individuals includes:

  • Access to training and skills courses to help you progress in work or prepare for a new opportunity.
  • CV writing and job application support if you want to move into a different or better-paid role.
  • Interview preparation to help you feel more confident applying for new opportunities.
